The ruins of Catalhoyuk, found near Konya, date back to 7500 B.C. Excavation started back in the 1950's and the site quickly became a sensation due to the fact it was the largest and best preserved Neolithic site discovered. There have been very impressive wall paintings and other art work uncovered still in good tact; along with reliefs and many objects from day to day life. Catalhoyuk has been listed as a World Heritage UNESCO Site and is still an active archeological dig.
