Located 50km from Fethiye, Saklikent Gorge (meaning ‘Hidden City’ in Turkish) is a canyon 300m deep and 18km long, which suggests it is one of the largest in the world. During the cold and wet winter months, the water levels rise, so visitors can only enter during summer. Only 4km of the canyon can be walked, however if you wish to go deeper, it is only advisable if you are highly experienced. The water is absolutely freezing, however it’s a most enjoyable experience walking through this wonderful natural masterpiece.
