Hotel Des Etrangers

The Hotel Des Etrangers is the first and oldest hotel in the Cannakale. Dating back to beyond 1868 the owners spent four years completely renovating it, to re-open fully refurbished in 2010. The owners of the hotel wanted to keep the history of the building in taste with the renovations, so you will find that the old stone walls and bricks in the foyer, are still from the original structure. The hotel was frequented by local merchants, back when the leather trade was prominent in the area and the famous excavator of Troy ruins also stayed in the hotel. The rooms now have been tastefully decorated in Anatolian, Ottoman and Greek styles with some modern touches. Decked out to a high level of comfort they have en-suites with modern bathrooms and some rooms offer terraces to enjoy the view from. There is a cafe and restaurant attached to the hotel that specialises in cooking home made meals with locally grown produce and the breakfast serves up different home cooked delicacies.
