Today we will start the day with a tour out to the Derinkuyu Underground City. The underground city was used by the locals usually as a means of storage. However, when invasion threatened them, they took to the underground cities as refuge. Here they built level upon level to house not only themselves, but their live stock and continue on with life as normal. Within the many levels of the City you can find schools, storage units, stables, kitchens, bedrooms and even a winery. Your time in the afternoon is yours to do as you choose. You may like to pick a spot to sit and enjoy a tea or cold drink while taking in the views or alternatively, you may like to go trekking through many of the valleys with their unusual rock formations.
