First off today we will visit the Museum of Aya Sofya. Once used as an ancient Roman church for over 916 years, it was later converted into a mosque after the conquest of Istanbul in 1453. Rich in history, we will get to see the Christian mosaics along side large arabic medallions show casing a mix of religions in the one building. We will have lunch in the Grand Bazaar and afterwards wander through the numerous streets past the lively shop owners down into the wholesale bazaar and into the Egyptian Spice market. Here you can taste Turkish delight, smell out the spices and have some friendly banter with the cheeky sales men. We will also fit in a visit to the Rustem Pasa Mosque.
