Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and the morning is your own free time to spend at your own leisure. You may like to get out & explore the local area before we meet back at the hotel for a very special lunch.
We will be heading to one of Janan Sozens favourite restaurants for lunch - Kantin found in Nisantasi area of Istanbul.
Kantin’s idea is to provide freshly cooked good food, based on the heritage of Istanbul which is a melting pot of cultures, thanks to Greeks, Armenians, Jews and Turks who have all contributed to it throughout the history. The most important aspect in Kantin is the quality of ingredients and their careful preparation. Chef - owner Semsa Denizsel will be our guide for an excellent tasting lunch. There will also be time to visit the downstairs deli and take away shop.
After lunch, Janan will take us for a walk around the high end shopping district of Nisantasi. This is one of the most upmarket areas of Istanbul and has is an upscale shopping neighbourhood. Nisantası is home to Turkey’s leading department stores and to a huge array of international and local brands.
We will end the evening at Joan’s upscale Nisantasi apartment, where she will show us how to cook a light supper of Borek (pastries made of a thin flaky dough filled with cheese or other ingredients), salads and wine.
