Today we will start the day with a tour out to the Derinkuyu Underground City. The underground city was used by the locals usually as a means of storage. However, when invasion threatened them, they took to the underground cities as refuge. Here they built level upon level to house not only themselves, but their live stock and continue on with life as normal. Within the many levels of the City you can find schools, storage units, stables, kitchens, bedrooms and even a winery. Afterwards, we will join some local ladies to wander through the markets to purchase ingredients for lunch. We will firstly learn how to cook up a local speciality "Kayseri Manti" - a Turkish style ravioli, before we wash it own with a local wine.
