Today we get to go visit another one of the Sultans Palaces - Dolmabahce Palace. Built by the Sultans as a way to show that they still had power and money, it was actually said to be, the start of the undoing of the Ottoman empire. The palace is lavishly decorated with chandeliers, beautiful carpets and keepsakes from all over the world. The final place of residence for Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, it is an important place for the locals as this was where Ataturk passed away in November 1938. After the Palace we will wander into the wholesale bazaar and Egyptian Spice market. Here you can taste Turkish delight, smell out the spices and have some friendly banter with the cheeky sales men. We will also fit in a visit to the Rustem Pasa Mosque. Dinner this evening will be a farewell dinner and a great way to reminisce over our wonderful time of Turkey.
