Istanbul Cuisine

We start our day today with a visit to the Underground Cistern which is the ancient water supply for Istanbul. It has been beautifully restored and has a magical atmosphere. We will then board a local ferry down on the Golden Horn for a ride up the Bosphorus to see Istanbul on both continents - the Asian and the European. We will go past beautiful old mosques, houses and palaces lining the shores. At the end of the cruise we will have a wander through the Egyptian Spice Bazaar, where you can take in the scents and aromas of the spices, tea and even try some Turkish Delight. This is where we will stop for lunch. You will then have a few hours to yourself before we depart early evening for our cooking class. You will be welcomed by our hostess, teacher and chef Selin Rozanes in an upscale Nisantasi home. Here you will not only get to learn how to cook some delicious foods of Turkey, but you will learn the cooking methods and be given a glimpse into daily life of preparing a Turkish meal. At the end of the class, we get to enjoy the prepared food with some local wines for dinner.
