Today you will wake up to the surrealistic geological formation of Cappadocia. The unusual rock formations and valleys are a result from the natural forces during intense volcanic activity from years ago. We will start the morning off with a visit to the Goreme Open Air Museum. Here we will get to see many churches that have been carved into the rock formations and enjoy the in tact frescos still found untouched in the cave like dwellings. Afterwards we will head onto Avanos, which is a town within Cappadocia that is famous for its clay work. You will have time to yourself in the afternoon before we head out this evening to see a Whirling Dervish ritual dance in the historic Sarihan Caravansarai. After watching the magical spinning of the dervishes we will get to meet the lead Dervish to talk about the Sema and its significance. We will stay overnight back at our accommodation in Goreme.
