Bursa is cemented in history as being the first Capital City of the Ottoman Empire. An important City of its time, it has over the years modernised itself and sprawled out to be the fourth biggest City within Turkey. You can still find the old mausoleums and religious edifices of the Ottoman empire and some of the mosques are exquisite in design and decoration. The City is also famous for its local thermal springs, its soft silk, delicious locally made Turkish Delight and you can not pass up its famous Iskender "Bursa" kebab found on every lunch menu.
