Isak Pasa Palace

The Isak Pasa Palace is perched on a rocky outcrop over looking the Eastern Turkey town of Dogubeyazit. From the Palace you gaze out over the Anatolian plains and towards Mt Ararat. Building started on the Palace back in 1685 and later finished in 1784. The architecture of the palace is a mix of Seljuk, Ottoman, Persian and Armenian styles. The elaborate carvings of flower motifs, geometric shapes and fancy arabesques are still in good condition which adds to the beauty of the Palace. One of the last Ottoman Palaces to be built before the demise of the Empire, it stands to hold the statement the Sultans may have been trying to make before their demise.
